I posted more projects that I have completed this summer and during the school year.
It is quite exciting to develop projects. I wish I was more creative.
I believe as a teacher you are always learning and trying to perfect a lesson or project!

Life Cycle of a Pumpkin:
From Seed to Squash
This is one of my favorite Fall Projects!
I teach a Life Cycle Lesson on Pumpkins!
The students really enjoy this project
because it takes focus and concentration.
The students really learn the life cycle of a Pumpkin!

Telling the Time
Second Graders complete this project to become
more familiar with reading a clock and telling the time.

Array of Flowers
This is project is used to visualize
a multiplication sentence.

More Arrays
Practice makes perfect. Students can visualize the math sentence
and it will be easier for them to solve
the math sentence.

My Favorite Color Graph
This is a simple graph I have the students complete.
I ask the class what their favorite color is.
I count the students and write the numbers on the board.
The students color in the data into the graph.

Book Worm
This project can be done many ways.
Students can pick favorite parts in the story
and write and draw about it.
They can also write the beginning, middle, and end and draw it too!

Online Community Blog

I am still exploring and researching the Community Blogs. I am slowly getting the hang of it. I am learning new ideas and lessons. I also have learned that teachers can really communicate with others and try to create bonds. Community Blogs are a great way to motivate and support other educators.

Reading and Language Arts Projects

Story Map Clouds
I use this activity after reading a story.
The boys and girls write the different
elements of the story on the clouds.

Reading Links
This is another task the students do after reading a story.
On one link they write the author and illustrator.
On the other links they write sentences of
what happened in the story.

Understanding Parts of a Sentence
The class writes different adjectives
within the letters. This gives them word choice
when they write sentences.

Confused!

I am trying my hardest to participate in the community blog, but it seems very overwhelming. I haven't posted much, yet, when I have, no one responds! It seems as though they are not interested. Fortunately, I have seen many great posts that include teaching lessons and ideas. This has given me a lot of ideas to utilize in my class. I hope I learn how to navigate through the online community!

Math Art Projects

I use this activity with Second Graders. They are learning
addition and subtraction facts. I want students to understand that the facts are
related, the same numbers are being used, and they are turned-around in a sentence.

This project is aimed for the Third and Fourth Graders. They are learning place values. The students can visually see the representation of the numbers. They are learning how to write the numbers in standard, expanded, and written form.

This activity is for Second Graders. The students are using dominoes
to subtract numbers. They are learning how to write subtraction
sentences horizontally and vertically.

This activity is for Third and Fourth Graders.
They are also using dominoes
to subtract double-digit numbers.

My Summer Adventure

This summer I am working with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade students. I am teaching Reading, Language Arts, and Math. I am trying to make it fun, by creating Art Projects with the different subjects. The boys and girls are having fun and they are being challenged! My next step is to learn how to post pictures of the art projects. Hopefully, I will be able to figure it out!
